Custer County Search and Rescue crews helped a hiker who became too weak to continue on a trail in Custer State Park on Sunday.
Responders were called to the Sunday Gulch Trail, where they found the hiker alert but unable to walk safely. Crews provided fluids and placed the individual on a stretcher for transport to an इंत ambulance.
No further details on the hiker’s condition were released.
Officials reminded hikers to carry adequate water and food, wear proper footwear and share their plans with others before heading out. They also noted that 911 can be reached by text in emergencies.
