Police are investigating a vehicle burglary in which three unlocked vehicles were entered and a loaded handgun was taken, authorities said.
Officers were dispatched around 7:30 a.m. May 23 to a residence in the 2700 block of Oak Avenue after a resident reported the overnight incident. The reporting party told police that three vehicles on the property had been left unlocked and all were burglarized.
A loaded handgun was stolen from one of the vehicles, police said.
The case has been forwarded to the Rapid City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division for further investigation.
