The U.S. Air Force Academy Band will help kick off Rapid City’s “Real America Birthday Bash” with a free concert July 1, part of its 2026 “Freedom 250” summer tour.
The performance is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Memorial Park Band Shell and will open a multi-day Independence Day celebration running July 1–5.
The 60-member active-duty ensemble will perform a mix of patriotic music, American classics and contemporary selections across genres.
The tour will also include stops in Colorado, Wyoming and western South Dakota, including Belle Fourche and Mount Rushmore.
Admission to the Rapid City concert is free, with organizers encouraging attendees to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
