South Dakota voters will head to the polls tomorrow for the state’s primary election.
Contested statewide races include the republican nominations for Governor, US Senator and South Dakota’s lone house seat. Most legislative districts across the state also have contested races.
Many cities, counties and school districts also have candidates vying for local seats.
The latest report from the Secretary of State’s Office reports 16,674 absentee and early voting ballots have been received including 14,667 walk-in ballots.
The deadline for absentee and early voting is 5 p.m. local time today.
Polls will be open on election day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time.
