A 22-year-old man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for his role in a December 2025 armed robbery at a Rapid City convenience store.
Arlo Poor Thunder pleaded guilty earlier this month to aiding and abetting first-degree robbery and was sentenced Thursday in Pennington County court.
Prosecutors said the robbery was planned and involved threatening a store clerk with what appeared to be a firearm, causing the victim to fear for her life. Authorities also said Poor Thunder directed his 16-year-old nephew to serve as a lookout during the crime.
Prosecutors further alleged Poor Thunder assaulted another inmate while awaiting trial.
First-degree robbery carries a maximum penalty of 25 years. In addition to the prison term, the court ordered Poor Thunder to pay court costs.
