Gaming activity in Deadwood saw strong growth in April, with overall handle increasing 12.5% compared to the same month last year, according to the South Dakota Commission on Gaming.
Slot machines remained the primary driver of revenue, climbing 12.06%, while table games posted an even larger gain of 22.55%. Sports wagering was the only category to decline, dropping 6.06%, marking its first decrease in more than a year.
Deadwood Gaming Association Director George Milos credited favorable weather, special events, and affordability for the strong performance, expressing optimism as the busy summer tourism season begins.
