Authorities have located the body of a missing Black Hawk man following a three-day search effort.
The Meade County Sheriff’s Office says 23-year-old Jonah Temple was found around 3 p.m. on June 3 and positively identified. Preliminary findings indicate he died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation remains ongoing.
Temple’s death comes after an extensive search involving multiple agencies and community volunteers from across the Black Hills region. Officials credited their combined efforts for the successful recovery.
Sheriff Pat West thanked those who assisted, calling the response a testament to regional cooperation.
Authorities extended condolences to Temple’s family and asked for privacy as they grieve.
