A new braille guide created by a local Girl Scout is helping make downtown Rapid City and the City of Presidents more accessible to visitors who are blind or visually impaired.
Riley Thomasson developed the project as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award, producing braille booklets and a tactile map that allow users to navigate downtown and learn about the presidential statues.
The guides are available for checkout at the Rapid City Visitor Center, 613 Main Street, with the goal of ensuring all visitors can experience one of the city’s most notable attractions.
