The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office has launched its annual summer boat patrols on Black Hills lakes, monitoring Sheridan Lake and Pactola Reservoir from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Deputies are focusing on boater education, safety checks and enforcement of water regulations, including proper licensing and required equipment. Officials say the patrols aim to promote safe recreation by encouraging life jacket use, awareness of changing weather conditions and compliance with boating laws.
