A multi-agency investigation stemming from a child exploitation case led authorities to a rural Meade County residence, where a large quantity of suspected narcotics and digital evidence were seized.
The Meade County Sheriff’s Office, working alongside the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), executed a search warrant at a home in the 15000 block of Deerview Road. The property owner, Kevin Gilmore, 42, had already been arrested in Wisconsin on a warrant tied to an investigation originating in Minnesota.
While ICAC investigators were collecting electronic devices as part of the exploitation case, they discovered what appeared to be a significant amount of illegal drugs. The Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team (UNET) was called in to assist.
Authorities reported seizing approximately 157 pounds of marijuana, including evidence of a large-scale grow operation, along with an estimated 10 to 20 pounds of suspected psilocybin mushrooms. Investigators also recovered THC products such as hashish, vape cartridges, and infused gummies, in addition to multiple computers and digital storage devices.
The investigation remains ongoing, with additional charges possible.
