Motorists traveling on Interstate 90 west of Spearfish should prepare for delays as a pavement repair project is scheduled to begin Monday, July 13, 2026.
The work will take place on the eastbound lanes of I-90, where traffic will be reduced to a single lane during repair operations. The speed limit through the work zone will be lowered to 65 mph and further reduced to 45 mph when workers are present.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution and allow extra travel time while traveling through the area.
The $174,000 project is being completed by Sacrison Paving, Inc. of Whitewood. Pavement repair work is expected to be finished by Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, although the overall project is scheduled for completion by Friday, Oct. 30, 2026.
