Rapid City Council leadership has announced appointments to the city’s two primary standing committees for the upcoming year, along with assignments to a variety of city boards, committees, and commissions.
Council member Lindsey Seachris will serve as chair of the Public Works Committee, which reviews matters related to city infrastructure, utilities, and public works projects. Committee members will include Laura Armstrong, Josh Biberdorf, Bill Evans, and Callie Meyer.
Meanwhile, Greg Strommen will continue in his role as chair of the Legal and Finance Committee, which oversees legal, financial, and policy-related issues before they advance to the full council. Serving alongside Strommen will be Lance Lehmann, Kevin Maher, John Roberts, and Stephen Tamang.
Both committees meet prior to regular City Council meetings and are open to the public, providing residents with opportunities to learn about and comment on issues before they are considered by the full council.
In addition to the standing committee appointments, council leadership assigned members to various city boards, committees, and commissions that advise the city on a range of community issues and services.
The appointments will take effect as the council begins its new annual committee cycle.
