The FBI is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the 2024 killing of Alton Mesteth on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
Mesteth, 54, was shot multiple times inside his home near Kyle. Investigators believe he was not the intended target. The reward is being offered through the FBI’s Operation Steadfast Promise and Operation Not Forgotten initiatives in an effort to generate new leads in the unsolved case.
No suspects have been identified. Anyone with information is urged to call the FBI at 800-CALL-FBI (800-225-5324) or submit a tip online.
