The South Dakota Department of Transportation will hold an informational meeting on Aug. 4, 2026, at 5 p.m. to provide updates on the planned U.S. Highway 16/16B/Catron Boulevard interchange project in Rapid City.
The meeting will take place at Black Hills Energy, 7001 Mount Rushmore Road, where a pre-recorded presentation detailing the project’s background and construction phases will be available throughout the evening. Project staff will also be on hand to answer questions about construction timelines and potential impacts on motorists and nearby businesses.
The project area includes the Highway 16/16B and Catron Boulevard interchange and a portion of Promise Road. Construction is expected to begin later this year and continue through late 2032.
