The Pennington County Courthouse remained closed today as officials continued working to resolve ongoing air conditioning issues that have affected the building complex for several days.
County officials said the closure was necessary because of heat-related concerns and continuing problems with the courthouse air conditioning system. The decision follows a half-day closure on Friday after cooling equipment issues impacted conditions inside the building.
According to officials, the courthouse complex’s chillers experienced problems last week, and those issues persisted through the weekend, preventing the system from adequately cooling the facility.
“We’re still working on it today,” county officials said in a statement, adding that repairs and troubleshooting efforts remain underway.
