Authorities are investigating the death of a woman who was found unresponsive Sunday morning at a residence on Campbell Street.
According to the Rapid City Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 6:30 a.m. on July 20 to the 1400 block of Campbell Street following a report of an unresponsive female.
Upon arrival, officers located the woman and determined that she was deceased. Police said there were no obvious signs of trauma or significant injuries that appeared to have contributed to her death.
An autopsy has been scheduled as investigators work to determine the woman’s cause of death.
The woman’s identity is being withheld pending notification of her next of kin.
The investigation remains active, and authorities are asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Rapid City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division at 605-394-4134.
Police said additional information will be released as appropriate as the investigation progresses.
