Black Hills Energy generated $138 million in direct economic impact across the Black Hills region in 2025, according to the company’s annual Community Impact Report.
The report highlights the utility’s contributions to local communities through charitable giving, volunteer efforts and economic development support.
Black Hills Energy said it donated more than $877,000 to nonprofit organizations, scholarships and economic development groups during the year. Company employees also contributed more than 8,200 volunteer hours to community projects and organizations throughout the region.
The company’s Black Hills Cares program raised more than $148,000 to help families struggling to pay their energy bills, providing assistance to residents facing financial hardship.
In addition to its charitable efforts, Black Hills Energy continued to invest in economic development initiatives and support organizations such as the United Way of the Black Hills, underscoring its commitment to strengthening local communities and supporting regional growth.
Company officials said the report reflects Black Hills Energy’s ongoing focus on improving the quality of life in the communities it serves through financial support, volunteerism and community partnerships.
