RAPID CITY, S.D. — South Dakota motorists are paying an average of $3.989 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline, according to AAA’s latest fuel price report. South Dakota’s average price remains just below the national average of $4.096 per gallon.
The statewide average saw a drop of about 4 cents compared to one week ago. The price is 30 cents more that a month ago and 94 cents higher that a year ago.
Prices in the Rapid City area are down about 2 cents in the last week and currently sit at 4.183 per gallon, 20 cents above the state average. .
Diesel fuel averaged $4.985 per gallon statewide reflecting a 45 cent increase in the last month nearly 1.40 cents more than a year ago.
West River will see a higher demand over the next 2 weeks as the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally officially begins Friday.
