PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley announced he has appealed a federal court ruling that temporarily blocked enforcement of a new state law prohibiting the advertisement, dispensing, and distribution of abortion pills in South Dakota.
The U.S. District Court in Rapid City issued a preliminary injunction in July after Mayday Health challenged the law, which had been scheduled to take effect July 1.
Jackley filed the appeal Monday with the U.S. Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
