PENNINGTON COUNTY, S.D. — One adult and one juvenile were arrested after multiple gunshots were fired at a residence north of Rapid City late Saturday night, according to the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a report of shots fired on 225th Street at about 11 p.m. on Aug. 8. Investigators found evidence that several rounds had struck the home, but no injuries were reported.
The victim was able to identify a suspected vehicle involved in the incident and provided that information to law enforcement. Rapid City Police officers later located the vehicle at a Rapid City residence and detained individuals believed to be connected to the shooting.
Following the execution of search warrants, investigators recovered evidence linked to the case. Authorities arrested Jaycias Flying Horse, 18, of Rapid City, on allegations of aggravated assault, discharge of a firearm at an occupied structure, receiving stolen property, and underage consumption. A juvenile was also arrested on related charges.
The investigation remains active, and additional charges are possible. Authorities said there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.
