STURGIS, S.D. — Six men were arrested during an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) operation conducted Aug. 7-12 during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Attorney General Marty Jackley announced.
Investigators posed online as minors or traffickers offering children for prostitution, leading to arrests on charges including solicitation of a minor, human trafficking, and attempted rape.
Those arrested were Johan Vazquez-Garza, 33, Rapid City, Adrian Tomas Randles, 39, Rapid City, Steven Clay Brown, 62, Sturgis, Jay Anderson, 39, Hot Springs, Bo Bo Aung, 38, Box Elder, and Kevin Orlanda Tassion Brown, 30, Dillon South Carolina.
Authorities said some suspects may face additional federal immigration proceedings.
The operation marked the 14th consecutive year of ICAC enforcement during the rally. Since its inception, the effort has resulted in approximately 104 arrests of individuals seeking to sexually exploit children.
Multiple local, state, and federal agencies participated in the operation. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
