RAPID CITY, S.D. – Children are once again enjoying the playground at Robbinsdale Park following a major renovation aimed at making the space accessible to everyone.
City officials recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the upgraded playground, replacing equipment that was nearly 30 years old and increasingly difficult to maintain.
The new play area features ADA-accessible ramps, inclusive swings, and a specialized Zipkrooz ride designed to allow children of different abilities to play independently.
Rapid City Mayor Jason Salamun says the project reflects the city’s commitment to ensuring public spaces can be enjoyed by all residents. The renovation was funded by the city and completed with help from multiple departments.
Officials say Robbinsdale Park is part of a larger effort to upgrade playgrounds throughout Rapid City, with projects already underway or planned for several other neighborhood parks.
