RAPID CITY, S.D. – A Rapid City man was arrested Monday evening following a multi-vehicle crash on East Omaha Street.
Police say officers were dispatched to the intersection of East Omaha Street and Campbell Street at around 5:00 p.m. on August 25th after reports of a crash involving several vehicles.
According to investigators, a black passenger vehicle struck multiple vehicles at the intersection. Officers identified the driver as 40-year-old Tyler Paris of Rapid City and reported detecting a strong odor of alcohol.
Police administered a preliminary breath test, which registered a 0.426 percent blood alcohol content, more than five times South Dakota’s legal driving limit.
Following an investigation, officers determined Paris was too impaired to safely operate a vehicle. He was arrested on charges of DUI and Driving Under Revocation and transported to the Pennington County Jail.
