BOX ELDER, S.D. – A 20-year-old Box Elder man is facing charges after allegedly crashing into a Rapid City business and leaving the scene Sunday morning.
Police were dispatched around 7:15 a.m. to a restaurant on Mount Rushmore Road after reports that a vehicle had struck the building and driven away.
According to witnesses, the driver was working for an app-based food delivery service and had arrived to pick up an order before driving into the side of the building. Investigators identified the driver as Decimus Grass of Box Elder.
Rapid City Police contacted the Box Elder Police Department, which located Grass and the damaged vehicle at his residence. Authorities say Grass was arrested for DUI and transported to the Meade County Jail.
Rapid City Police have also requested a warrant for an accident hit-and-run charge related to the collision.
No injuries were reported, and the incident remains under investigation.
