RAPID CITY, S.D. – Classes at Rapid City Central High School were canceled Wednesday after a power outage affected the facility.
Rapid City Area Schools announced the closure Wednesday morning, saying students will not attend classes for the day while officials work through the situation.
School district leaders thanked families for their patience and understanding and said they are continuing to assess the outage and its impact on the building.
At this time, the district has not released the cause of the power interruption. Officials say additional information, including plans for the resumption of classes, will be shared as it becomes available.
Students and parents are encouraged to monitor communications from Rapid City Area Schools for updates.
