RAPID CITY, S.D. – More than 230 employers from across the country are expected on the South Dakota Mines campus Tuesday for the university’s annual Fall Career Fair.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the King Center and is open to Mines students and alumni. Employers will be recruiting for internships, co-op opportunities, and full-time positions in science, engineering, and technology fields.
Among the companies attending are Caterpillar, Garmin, Daktronics, Halliburton, Kiewit, Nucor, and RESPEC.
University officials say many employers also schedule interviews with students in the days following the event.
South Dakota Mines reports 94 percent of its recent graduates are either employed in their field of study or continuing their education in graduate school. The average starting salary for graduates is more than 76-thousand dollars per year.
The university’s Career Services Center provides resume reviews, interview preparation, career coaching, and access to professional attire through its Grubby’s Career Closet program.
