RAPID CITY, S.D. — Pennington County residents can begin casting ballots for the Nov. 3 election through early in-person absentee voting starting Sept. 18.
Voting will take place at the Pennington County Auditor’s Office in the County Administration Building at 900 Concourse Drive, Suite 130, in Rapid City. The office will accept in-person absentee voters Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 19. Voters casting ballots in person should bring a valid photo ID. Under South Dakota law, voters without photo identification may still cast a regular ballot by signing a personal identification affidavit.
Residents who wish to vote by mail can request an absentee ballot through the South Dakota Secretary of State’s absentee voting portal.
Officials encourage voters with questions about registration, absentee ballots, or early voting procedures to contact the Pennington County Auditor’s Office at 605-394-2153 or visit the South Dakota Secretary of State’s website for additional information
