RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Rapid City Public Library and the Rapid City Police Department are partnering to collect essential items for local youth and families in need as part of September’s Black Hills Month of Caring.
Community members can donate new or gently used items by placing them in a collection bin at the library. Organizers say all donations will remain in the Rapid City area and benefit neighborhoods served by the police department’s Community Engagement Team.
The effort is part of the United Way of the Black Hills’ annual Month of Caring campaign, which brings residents together to address critical community needs through volunteerism and local support.
Officials encourage residents to participate and help provide much-needed resources to families and young people throughout the community.
