RAPID CITY, S.D. – A month-long donation campaign is underway to help South Dakota families facing food insecurity.
First Interstate Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines are matching donations throughout Hunger Action Month, increasing the impact of contributions made to fight hunger across the state.
Organizers say every dollar donated through the campaign can help provide six meals to South Dakotans in need.
According to Feeding South Dakota, about 130,000 residents experience food insecurity. Development Officer Jennie Palmer says the campaign is also intended to raise awareness that hunger affects communities across the state and that local support can make a meaningful difference.
The matching donation effort will continue through the end of the month.
