RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Public Library is preparing for a leadership transition following the departure of longtime Library Director Terri Davis.
Davis has served as library director since 2017 and previously worked as assistant director for 15 years. During her tenure, the library expanded services through programs such as the Makerspace, Historical Collection Room, enhanced technology offerings, and the launch of a bookmobile in 2024.
Library Board Chair Emily Tupa praised Davis for her years of service and contributions to expanding library resources for the community.
Mayor Jason Salamun also thanked Davis for her commitment to library patrons and the city.
The Library Board says Assistant Director Sean Minkel will oversee day-to-day operations while the board develops a process to select the library’s next director.
