RAPID CITY, S.D. – Community Connect returns to Rapid City Tuesday, offering free clothing, shoes, bedding, household goods and other essentials to anyone in need. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fine Arts Building on the Central States Fairgrounds.
Organizers say there are no income requirements, identification checks, or limits on the number of items families can take. The goal is to provide a judgment-free opportunity for individuals and families to get the items they need as cooler weather approaches.
In addition to free clothing and household items, attendees can receive free showers, haircuts, and information about local community resources. The Salvation Army mobile canteen will also provide a free lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Community Connect is supported by several local organizations and relies on volunteers to help with the event. Organizers say the program brings together neighbors, nonprofits, and community agencies to help meet needs across the Rapid City area.
