WYOMING – A new study suggests Wyoming residents are searching for free football streams at a higher rate than any other state in the country.
According to research by Action Network, Wyoming recorded 340 searches per 100,000 residents for football-related free streaming terms, including searches tied to college football and Monday Night Football.
The study analyzed Google search activity between September 2025 and August 2026. Researchers found interest in unauthorized sports streaming nationwide peaked in September as football season began.
Overall, Wyoming ranked 18th for searches related to unauthorized sports streaming, while South Dakota ranked 38th.
Researchers caution that search data does not necessarily indicate illegal streaming activity, noting some people may simply be looking for free viewing options or information about streaming services.
