DEADWOOD, S.D. – Authorities have released the names of those involved in a fatal motorcycle crash Friday on Nemo Road near Deadwood.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol says 35-year-old Neco James Biou of Rapid City was riding a southbound Harley-Davidson when he entered a curve, began to slide, and crossed into the path of a northbound motorcycle.
Investigators say Biou’s motorcycle collided with a second Harley-Davidson operated by David Orlin Lustfield. Biou was ejected into a ditch and died from his injuries.
Lustfield and his passenger, Katherine Ann Lustfield, were taken to a Deadwood hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the crash remains under investigation, and all information released so far is considered preliminary.
