RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City residents have just a few days left to weigh in on a study examining whether on-demand micro transit service could be added to the city’s public transportation system.
Rapid Transit System officials say an online survey will remain open through October 19 as part of a feasibility study looking at current ridership patterns, community transportation needs, and potential service gaps.
Micro transit would allow riders to request trips through a smartphone app, website or phone call, with curb-to-curb pickup and drop-off instead of fixed bus stops.
Transit officials say the goal is to determine whether the service could improve efficiency, reliability, and accessibility for riders throughout the Rapid City area.
More information about the study and the public survey is available through the Rapid Transit System website.
