RAPID CITY, S.D. – If you’re planning to visit a Rapid City park this fall and winter, city officials are reminding residents that most seasonal restroom facilities have now closed for the season.
The Rapid City Parks Department says the remaining restrooms at Sioux Park near the playground, the lower Robbinsdale Park playground, and the Sioux Park Tennis Courts will stay open through October, weather permitting. Those facilities are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Beginning next week, the Memorial Park Bandshell restroom will also be closed and secured for the winter season.
Starting Nov. 1, year-round restroom facilities at Skyline Wilderness Park, Founders Park and Canyon Lake West will switch to winter hours, operating from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closing during periods of inclement weather.
To help meet public needs during the colder months, portable restrooms will remain available year-round at several locations, including Braeburn Park, Jackson Park Disc Golf Course, West Fulton Trailhead, the Robbinsdale walking path and Lacroix Disc Golf Course.
