RAPID CITY, S.D. – Today, October 19, is the deadline for South Dakotans to register to vote in next month’s general election.
Voters will decide a number of high-profile races, including South Dakota’s next governor, a U.S. Senate seat, and the state’s lone U.S. House seat. Ballots will also include several statewide constitutional amendments and legislative contests.
In Rapid City, voters will weigh in on the proposed Rapid City Area Schools bond issue, which could fund major school facility projects across the district.
Election officials encourage anyone who has recently moved, changed their name, or has not yet registered to verify their voter registration before the deadline.
The general election is scheduled for November 3.
