RAPID CITY, S.D. – AARP South Dakota is inviting Rapid City residents to take part in two free events in November honoring family caregivers, veterans and military families.
The first event is a free screening of The Upside at the Elks Theatre on November 4 at 6:30 p.m. Organizers say registration is required to attend the movie.
Then, on Veterans Day, November 11, AARP will host an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. at its information center inside Uptown Rapid. Veterans, active-duty military members and their families are invited to stop by for refreshments and information on available resources. No registration is needed for the open house.
AARP South Dakota State Director Erik Gaikowski says family caregivers and veterans contribute greatly to their communities, and November provides an opportunity to recognize their service and sacrifice.
More information and movie registration details are available at aarp.org/blackhills.
