RAPID CITY, S.D. – Pennington County officials say changes at the Treasurer’s Office are significantly reducing long lines and wait times. The office is moving away from its previous queuing system and now serves most customers on a first-come, first-served basis, while still offering online appointments.Â
Treasurer Annette Brant says adding part-time staff during busy lunch hours and expanding the use of DMV self-service kiosks has helped cut average wait times by about 80 minutes. County commissioners say they’ve seen a dramatic improvement, with far fewer people waiting for service than in past years, and officials are continuing to look for ways to improve customer service.
