RAPID CITY, S.D. – A Rapid City woman has been arrested after a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash Friday morning left one person seriously injured.
Police were called to the 5100 block of Stoney Creek Drive at approximately 9:25 a.m. after receiving reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a Nissan SUV. Investigators say the SUV also backed over a mailbox during the incident.
The pedestrian was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
Officers identified the driver as 61-year-old Martina Muckler of Rapid City. During the investigation, police reported detecting a strong odor of alcohol and determined Muckler was too impaired to safely operate a vehicle.
