RAPID CITY, S.D. – Several public-facing services provided by the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office and Rapid City Police Department have moved to a new location in downtown Rapid City.
The offices are now operating out of the Pennington County Justice Center at 130 Kansas City Street, the former Pennington County Administration Building located one block east of the Public Safety Building.
The move includes the Records, Civil, and Warrants divisions. Residents can now visit the Justice Center for services such as firearm permits, law enforcement records requests, fingerprinting, sex offender registration services, and self-turn-ins for outstanding warrants.
The building also houses the Pennington County State’s Attorney’s Office, Public Defender’s Office, Emergency Management, Dispatch, Buildings and Grounds, and Pennington County Fire.
Officials say consolidating these services into one location with ample parking will make it more convenient for the public to access a variety of law enforcement and county services.
